Obituary of Thelma A Austin

Thelma A.(McGee) Austin, 94, passed away October 9th, 2017 at Shelton Health and Rehab with family by her side. Born July 17th, 1923 in Corvallis, Ore., to Samuel and Emma McGee, she was the youngest of eleven children. Thelma met her 1st husband while serving in World War II; they married in January of 1946 and had four children. Thelma was very active in the American Legion, serving several offices over the years. When she was able she enjoyed gardening and had a love for flowers. She enjoyed traveling in her motorhome with her husband’s visiting family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandkids, knitting, playing cards, and watching ball games. Thelma was preceded in death by her late husbands, Stanley Obremski, Ed Thomas and Will Austin as well as Granddaughter Megan Strope Obremski. She is survived by her four children: Diane Schmidt (Wayne) of Olympia, Norma Obremski, Jerry Obremski (Diane) and Bill Obremski, all of Shelton. Six Grandchildren: Sean Parker (Jennifer), Kimberly James, Jeanine Obremski, Jessica Dolge (Josh), Jeramy Obremski (Ashley) and Dale Obremski (Leigha). Six Great-grandchildren: Alan Depo, Michael West, Ashley and Gavin Dolge, Haley Parker and Austin Obremski. A memorial will be held Nov 11th at 1 pm at Hope Chapel in Shelton.
