Obituary of Richard Frank Funk

Richard (Dick) Funk, 72, of Grapeview, Washington passed away December 26, 2017. Dick was born October 9, 1945 in Everett, Washington to Alton and Josephine Funk. He had three siblings, Carol(deceased), Roger and Joe. Dick graduated from Mt Vernon High School and later spent four years in the United States Navy. He was stationed in Boston where he met his first wife and had his children, Jennifer and Griffin. While in Boston he received his BS Degree, in Mathematics, from Harvard and his Master's Degree, in computer science, from Boston University. Dick divorced in 1987 and moved back to Washington State to be near family. Dick married Patty Funk August 26, 1994. He was a skilled craftsman who along with his wife Patty helped design and build their dream home on the Olympic Peninsula. Dick was a Software Engineer Manager at Digital Equipment Corporation and Compaq Computer company for 27 years. After retirement he started his own computer business using his computer expertise helping others. He is survived by his Wife, Patty; Brothers Roger(Diana), and Joe(Kathy); Son Griffin(Kimberly); Daughter Jennifer Reuben(Matt);Step-Son Erik(Ann); Granddaughter Francesca, Grandsons Archer and Hunter, Step-Grandson Ian; and many Nieces and Nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at: Horton Community Center, Grapeview Loop Rd., Grapeview WA 98546, Feb. 24, at 12:00PM. Lunch Provided.
