Obituary of Susan Elizabeth Gaubatz

Susan Elizabeth (Luft) Gaubatz, age 69, passed away in her home in Shelton, Washington on Sunday, March 23rd, 2019, after a long battle with Emphysema. She was born on December 28, 1949, in Centralia, Wa. She graduated from Centralia High School in 1968. After high school, Susan joined the Navy and was stationed in Corpis Cristi, Texas. She served 4 years before moving back to Washington. She started working for the Department of Labor & Industries in the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), in Olympia. She worked for DOSH for 30 years, moving her way up to an IT4 position before her retirement in 2013. Susan is survived by her husband of 20 years, David Gaubatz, Shelton, WA, and a sister, Cindy Brooks, Montana. Susan is preceded in death by her sister, Corki Hirsh who passed away in 2017. Susan requested no service or celebration of life, but instead wanted to be cremated and have her ashes spread over Hawaii, which was her favorite place.
