Obituary of Cynthia Anne Masteller

Cynthia Ann Masteller peacefully passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on May 5, 2014. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on April 10, 1957. She worked as Tax Payer Services Administrative Assistant for the Dept. of Revenue in Olympia for 28 years. She previously worked at South Puget Sound Community College, Leboki's Restaurant in Shelton, and had been a self-employed seamstress for weddings and rock musicians. She volunteered 3 years as Co-Superintendant of the Home Arts Department at the Mason County Fair. Cyndi had many talents and was very artistic. She was exceptional at knitting, crocheting, sewing, and gardening. She share her many artistic talents by giving wonderful handmade gifts. Cyndi loved to beachcomb, feed the birds & squirrels, and dance. Cyndi enjoyed hunting, fishing, and mushroom picking. She was proud to be a strong supporter of President Obama. Cyndi is survived by her husband Kelly Masteller, daughter Alacyn Coupe (John) of Whidbey Island, son Matthew Mikota of Bellingham, parents Curtis and Claudia McHendry of Olympia, brother Clifford McHendry (wife Dawn, grown children Cody, Sean & Danny) of Palmer, AK, sister Charlene McHendry (daughter Claudia Jean) of Shelton, sister Cheryl Cuskelly of Tumwater, and her beloved dog Beau. She was married to Alan Mikota for 25 years with whom she had two wonderful children. She has many nieces and nephews and one new granddaughter Macy Maxine. She was known for her captivating smile, her warmth and love of life. Cremation services will be provided by McComb & Wagner in Shelton. A celebration of her life will be planned for family and friends, and will be announced in the near future.
