Obituary of Stacie Lee Kelsey

Stacie Lee Kelsey, 51, passed away peacefully in her home on October 30, 2019. Stacie was born June 28, 1968 to Bruce Wayne Kelsey and Carol Ann (Larson) Kelsey in Tacoma, WA. She grew up in the small town of Rainier, WA and graduated from Rainier High School in 1986. She attended SPSCC, then transitioned to what would be a nearly 30-year career with the Washington State Department of Transportation. She worked her way up from clerical positions to engineering. She genuinely cared about every project she ever worked and every person she worked with. She loved her job, almost more than she loved taking a vacation. Almost... Stacie loved to travel. Warm beaches, sunshine, Cabo! She loved Cabo. She had a zest for life and was always willing to try new things (except anything with onions, she hated those). She loved golf, fishing & clam digging, running with her fav P3 peeps, hiking, kayaking, sports (the Seahawks had her heart, but her framed Howie Long Jersey was her prized possession), concerts, and hanging out with her friends. She loved her family and treasured her time with each and every one of them. And Trufant. She loved her Rottweiler, Trufant, as a mother loves her child. Stacie’s enthusiasm was infectious; her smile, contagious. She was strong, funny, vibrant, passionate, intelligent, loving, giving, and loyal. She was the rare type who cheered people on and was genuinely happy when others succeeded. She put her full heart into everything she did. She was truly beautiful, inside and out. In addition to her parents, Stacie is survived by her sisters, Susan (Matt) Denmark, Barbara (Russ) Gibbs, Catherine (Chad) Beebe, and Christie (Gene) Roper, sister from another mother Cyndi (Brad) Booze, her nieces & nephews (Kati, Billy, James, Jim, Tristanni, Ryan, Brooklyn, Ashlyn & Wesley), her grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends - She developed hundreds of friendships throughout her lifetime. Real, lasting friendships. She was preceded in death by her sweet girl, Trufant. A Celebration of Stacie’s Life will be held at the Rainier Sportsman’s Club - 404 Alaska Street, Rainier WA - on Saturday, November 23rd at 3:00 pm. Friends and Family, please join us. Until we meet again, Chicky!
