Stanlie Butler Jr.

Obituary of Stanlie Butler Jr.

Stanlie (Buck) Butler, Jr. passed away on January 6, 2022 after a valiant two-and-a-half year battle with multiple myeloma. He was born in Great Falls, Montana on November 29, 1950, the eldest of seven sons born to Stanlie and Marion Butler. After graduating from Rainier High School, Buck began logging for Weyerhaeuser and later worked for O’Neill and Sons, Honeywell, and Bowhead Logistics Solutions. He was a founding member of the Rainier Ruffians Jeep Club. An all-around handyman, Buck enjoyed mentoring young men who he thought of as sons. His hobbies included hunting, vehicle maintenance and repair, carpentry and electrical work. He loved the outdoors and took great joy in guiding for turkey, elk and deer with Bear Paw Outfitters. Wyoming was a favorite hunting ground shared with family and life-long friends. Surviving Buck are his wife of 40 years, Marie, sons Brian (Cayce) Butler and B.J. (Jay) Butler, Daughters Kathy (Don) Carney, Gwynn (Mark) Backman, and Dawn (Sean) Clowers. Grandchildren Jordan, Jared, Gracie, Shelbie, Mylie, Adam, Noah (Kia), Wyatt, Megan, and Jennifer (Patrick), and great-grandchild Ayla. Brothers Terry (Sandee), John, Randy, and Kenny; brothers Barry and Don preceded him in death. Buck was tough as nails with a heart of gold. He will rest in peace with the knowledge he was so very deeply loved by so many. A summer gathering will be planned.
