Obituary of Nancy Colleen Stevens

Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On October 23, 2022, Nancy Colleen Stevens journey to her heavenly home with family by her side. Nancy was born on December 20, 1950 to Clifford E. & Fanny D (Bethers) Doolittle in Tacoma, Washington. Nancy was fourth of eight children in the Doolittle clan. She grew up in Tacoma and graduated from Stadium High School in 1969. Nancy married right of high school and had her oldest son, Dennis. After three years that marriage ended and she met the love of her life, Charles Stevens. They were married on January 26, 1973 and celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary this year. The last 49 years have had many adventures. They went on to grow their family and had a second son, James. After a few years they adopted Jeremy and Christina. Their family was complete. Nancy loved her family with all her heart. She went to soccer games and would even get sideline warnings from the referees. She loved her children with every part of her being. She prayed diligently for her children and her grandchildren. She was a dedicated hard worker and loved staying busy. Nancy not only raised four children but also worked at K-Mart until she retired in 2012. Nancy loved the Lord, her family and all those around her. She had a servant's heart like no other, she truly served from the heart. Nancy was very involved in church with Sunday school, the nursery and leading the Awana program. Always helping some where. Once her and Chuck retired they decided to renovate a cabin in Ashford where they eventually called home. Nancy loved hiking the trails in Mt Rainier National Park, feeding the deer daily and hosting family camping trips to the cabin. Nancy was wonderful, no matter who we brought she would make everyone feel they were part of the family. She loved to play cards, work outside, travel and visit family. They began camping with the Live Wires at Shelton First Baptist Church and a few years later began being snowbirds in Arizona. They developed great friendships where ever they went. In 2020 Nancy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung cancer. The last 2 years have been a battle trying many different treatments. Nancy never wavered in her strength with the Lord. They knew He was in control through these challenging times. She was the strongest person right up until the end. Nancy is survived by her husband, Charles Stevens and their four children, sons, Dennis & Jan Stevens (NE Tacoma), James & Tammy Stevens (Nebraska), Jeremy & Christina Stevens (Moses Lake) and her daughter Christina & Felicia Parker (Tacoma). She was blessed to have five grandchildren, Justin & Emily Stevens, Tamara & Michael Kuster, Cody Stevens, Izaiah Stevens and Charlie Stevens-Parker. Nancy also has seven siblings and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all her family and friends. Though there will always be a void, we know as a family, the separation is temporary and will see her again. She brought heaven that much closer. There is no services planned at this time.
