Obituary of Arvilla Rose Etta O'Banion

Arvilla (Billie) Rose Etta O’Banion Arvilla (Walker) O’Banion, also known as Billie, 91, went to be with Jesus on Feb 15, 2015. She passed peacefully at home of lung cancer. She is survived by a daughter Marion Newton and a son Joseph O’Banion, 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was born Nov. 25, 1923 to Marion Vincent Walker & Grace Emily (Kittle) Walker in Kahoka, Missouri. At the age of 8 she asked Jesus into her heart and she stayed committed to Him all her life. She married Vern Hamilton O’Banion on Sept. 30 1940 in Grant City, Missouri. They moved to southern California to work in the ship yards during WWII. She and her husband worked as welders at this time. She lived in the southern California area where she raised her children. Her husband passed when she was 49 in 1973. She worked as a shipping and receiving clerk, once her children were grown. She retired at age 62 and began serving the Lord full time. She volunteered at “Church on the Way”, a large foursquare church in Van Nuys, California, until she moved to Shelton in 2009. She lived with her daughter and son-in-law where they attended Harvest foursquare church in Shelton. Jesus was the love of her life and she shared His love with all she met. A celebration of her life service will be 1:00 pm Feb 28, at Harvest foursquare 910 Dearborn Ave, Shelton. A potluck reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
