Obituary of Gino Rau

Please share a memory of Gino to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
REVY Gino Rau September 15, 1955 to December 2, 2024 Beloved Shelton graduate, class of 1974, state AA wrestling champion slipped away from us on Monday December 2. Gino was a loving man with a big heart and a bigger sense of humor. He loved to make people laugh. He thought he was funny. From childhood Gino was passionate about a few things; music, fishing, classic cars, Seahawks, Dachshunds and his great big family. Gino worked at Settle and Sons in Shelton for many years. He drove a gravel truck, log truck, and chip truck before he retired from Vessey and Sons in Montesano. In 2013, Gino traveled to the Philippines to meet a girl he had been chatting with online and fell in love. He brought Angelina and Marieann (Chow) here to be part of our family. With his love story complete, he was happier than he had ever been. Gino is survived in death by his wife Angelina (Angie) and his children Britny Morales, Kyle Rau, and Marieann Chow) and his grandchildren Ashley, Trevor, Alex, Reina, Brody, Marisella and Matais. Surviving family members also include brother Glen and Thais, sister Melinda Kowal and Alan, and sister Carolyn Wood and Jim, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Gino was preceded in death by his mother Jean Petty, dad Wesley Rau, a brother Thomas, and recently a sister Elaine Bacus. Gino would want us to mention his best friends Tom Williams (troublemaker) and Ron Howland (mechanical genius), whom he loved most of his life. Those of us that knew and loved Gino know three truths about him; 1st love: Angie and Chow 2nd love: his 1955 Chevy Wagon (DO NOT SCRATCH LOWLA!!!) 3RD love: all the rest of us and we're OK with that. Gino wanted a springtime celebration of life party on a nice sunny day and a classic car cruise. So “Dust’em” if you “Gott’em” Rest in Peace- we love and miss you “Big Guy”
