Obituary of Eva Mae Austin
Eva passed away on June 23, 2015 peacefully at home at the age of 74. She was born November 11, 1941 to Raymond (Jack) and Rosalie (Howe) Wells in Yakima, WA as the first of three beautiful daughters. She spent her early childhood in that area later moving to Shelton, WA.
Eva graduated from Shelton High School in 1959 and started her career working for the State. In 1970, she became a teacher at what is now South Puget Sound Community College. She retired after 34 years as a Professor of Computer Information Systems in the Business Technology Department.
Outside of teaching, Eva’s life passions were her family (especially her grandchildren), beloved pets, cooking, gardening and canning. She’s in heaven growing green beans, roses and lilies for our Lord now.
She was preceded in death by both parents. She is survived by her sisters Jackie Coots-Sanderson and Kay McMillin; three children Russell Patton (Diane), Kenneth Patton (Carol) and Janel Lamm (Kurt); four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Eva will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched on her journey through life. A memorial service will be held July 11, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church 212 Connection St, Shelton, WA at 12:30 p.m. A reception will follow.
