Obituary of Robert Lewis McKennon

Robert "Bob" McKennon, 58, of Bremerton, WA, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Heather (Doughty), his father, Bill McKennon (Elsa), his brothers, Ricky McKennon, Tim McKennon (Sherry), Ken McKennon (Rosalind), and David McKennon, sisters, Kathy Shelby (Eddie) and Beth McKennon, nieces, Marissa Wrataric (James), Mandie Persall (Daylon), Emaline Harris (Sam), nephews, Tyler McKennon, Nathan Wolterman, great nieces, Kennasyn Persall, Macayla Wrataric, Bailey Wrataric, great nephew, Cash Persall, and numerous extended family and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel McKennon. Bob loved his family and friends very much and would do anything for them. He always had a smile on his face, even in the toughest of times, which was a testimony of his faith in Jesus Christ. We love you and miss you, but know that you are with the Lord and are finally healed and free! THE LIGHTHOUSE There’s a lighthouse on the hillside that overlooks life’s sea. When I’m tossed it sends out a light that I might see. And the light that shines in darkness now will safely lead me home. If it wasn’t for the lighthouse, my ship would sail no more. Everyone that lives around us, says tear that old lighthouse down. The big ships don’t sail this way anymore, Ain’t no use in it standing round. But then my mind goes back to that stormy night, When just in time I saw the light With the light from that old lighthouse, that stands there on the hill. And I thank God for The Lighthouse, I owe my life to Him. Jesus is the Lighthouse and from the rocks of sin, He has shown the light around me, so that I might clearly see. If it wasn’t for The Lighthouse, where would this ship be? Please consider making a donation to the ALS Association, www.alsa.org, to help find a cure. Thank you.
