Myron and Sharon were our neighbors for many years. Sharon and I would work in our yards and then stop and chat for an hour or so. I will never forget Sharon calling me over to her garage one day and was none too happy about a big spider and web in her garage, I took a broom and swatted it down and low and behold tons of baby spiders started to scatter. The two of us took off running out into the street ! Loved the smell of Myron roasting his coffee beans in the garage too. Some of the best people that have come across our path. We love you.

I met Sharon and Myron for the first time when I was living in Prague in May 2008. They came to visit their son,Greg, whom I had been dating the previous six months. I was feeling a bit apprehensive about my relationship with Greg due to the fact he was leaving Prague to return to Portland within a month, when he mentioned he'd like me to join them for dinner. I hesitantly obliged and then remember being upset afterwards because I liked them so much. In fact, I felt instantly connected with Sharon over career choices, Greg, and the fact that we both liked ice in our water, which is very difficult to come-by in Europe!
When I moved to Portland to be with Greg later that year, Sharon immediately took me as one of her own and brought me with open arms into the family. We began corresponding through emails, hers often infamously long, and I learned a lot about her life, her loves, and of course, the man that connected us. The man who is in so many ways, just like her and she did an impeccable job raising as a single mother. She was one of the most optimistic, compassionate and selfless people I've ever known and was truly like a mother to me in so many ways. I will miss her so much.
